HOUSE MANUAL

HEATING /AIR CONDITIONING

The property’s air conditioning system operates in a single mode at a time: either heating or cooling.

Each of the 7 remote controls must be set to the same mode:

• Use the Sun icon (☀️) for heating

• Use the Snowflake icon (❄️) for cooling

It’s normal for the units to take 5–10 minutes to start blowing air.

❗Please do not change the mode individually on any remote, as this may cause the entire system to malfunction or shut down. All remotes must be set together.

Important: Respecting the environment is a core value in our operations and we kindly ask you to use air conditioning mindfully. Keep windows and doors closed while the system is running, and turn it off when leaving the property to help us reduce energy waste.

RECYCLING AND WASTE MANAGEMENT

Rome has strict recycling rules, and we appreciate your help in following them during your stay.

Please sort your waste into the following categories:

1. Plastic & Metal

2. Paper & Cardboard

3. Glass

4. Organic Waste (food scraps, etc.)

5. Non-Recyclable Waste

You’ll find containers under the kitchen sink and bins in your room. Please set aside plastic bottles and paper goods where possible — our housekeeping team will collect and dispose of them properly.

USING THE STOVE IN THE KITCHEN

The kitchen is equipped with an induction stove. To use it:

1. Place a pan that fits completely within the marked induction circle.

2. Press the power button and select the desired burner.

3. If the child lock is activated, press and hold the button to deactivate.

4. Use the + / – buttons to adjust the heat. The stove will detect the pan and begin heating.

5. Once finished, press the power button again to turn it off.

Caution: The surface may stay hot for a while after use — avoid touching it until it cools completely.

Please avoid placing non-cookware items on the stove, and clean any spills with a soft cloth immediately to prevent damage.

QUIET HOURS

To ensure a peaceful environment for all guests, we kindly ask you to keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM.

TAP WATER

Rome’s tap water is safe to drink and comes directly from natural springs — feel free to refill your bottles!

HOUSE RULES

SMOKING

Casa Pietra is a 100% non-smoking property.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house. If there is any evidence of smoking indoors, a €200 cleaning fee will be charged.

DAMAGE, MISSING ITEMS AND CLEANING POLICY

We kindly ask all guests to treat the property with care and respect. The following policies help us maintain a welcoming space for everyone:

• Rooms left in an excessively dirty or disorderly condition may incur an additional cleaning fee, which will be charged to the card used to guarantee your booking.

• Damages to furniture, walls, appliances, or other items will be charged to the guest, including the cost of labor and materials for repairs or replacement.

• Missing items (e.g. towels, electronics) will be charged at their replacement value.

• Any item that has been misused or damaged due to improper use — such as towels used for cleaning shoes — will also be subject to replacement charges.

• Lost key sets will incur a €30 replacement fee per set.

Respect for the Property

We kindly ask guests to be mindful when handling luggage or using furniture near walls and painted surfaces.

Repeated damage to walls — such as scuffing, scratches, or chipped paint from suitcases — can be easily avoided by paying attention.

Thank you for helping us keep Casa Pietra a welcoming place for all future guests!

NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE

The Centro Storico is almost like a city within Rome - it's a relatively dense area (a little bit over 3km2) divided into 23 districts or rioni, the most central of which being our neighborhood Trevi along with rione Pigna, St. Eustachio, Parione and Colonna. This is where you can spend your days strolling between landmark icons like piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps while discovering multiple layers of historical architecture. Right along the Tiber, rione Regola and Ponte don't lack interesting and beautiful places as they offer some of the prettiest and least touristy walking itineraries around piazza Farnese, via Giulia, Campo de Fiori and the Jewish Ghetto. Rione Campitelli is where most of the archeologic sites are concentrated including the Colosseum and the Imperial Forum. The nearby quirky neighborhood of Monti is characterized by the contrast between the historic backdrop and the up and coming shops and restaurants, making it one of Rome’s favorite nightlife destinations. Across the Tiber spreads Trastevere, the largest among the rioni, with its scenic cobblestoned streets and famous food scene, alongside Vatican City and the residential Prati district. Finally, to get a glimpse of a more authentic Rome you should not miss taking a walk around the Aventine hill and having a plate of pasta at one of the authentic, time - capsule eateries of Testaccio.
